Bigcommerce Taps Scott Dussault for Board of Advisors

SAN FRANCISCO — February 5, 2015 — Bigcommerce, the ecommerce platform of choice for fast-growing brands, announced that Scott Dussault, COO and CFO at enterprise cloud storage provider Nasuni, has joined the company’s board of advisors. An enterprise software veteran with more than 20 years experience, including six years spent as CFO of Demandware, Dussault will advise Bigcommerce’s leadership team as the company expands its offering and ecosystem to meet the needs of enterprise-level retailers.

Previously, Dussault served as executive vice president and CFO at Demandware where he led the company through periods of hyper-growth and its initial public offering. Earlier in his career while serving as CFO at Achivas, Inc., Dussault also led and coordinated the company’s acquisition by Hitachi Data Systems.

“There’s massive potential with the Bigcommerce platform in the enterprise market, and that’s something that’s going to secure its success in the long-term,” said Dussault. “The Bigcommerce team is helping brands grow and compete with some of the biggest retailers, and I’m looking forward to digging in and helping them realize that potential.”

“Scott’s combined expertise in the enterprise market and prior experience taking a very successful ecommerce company public is exactly what we were looking to add to our advisory board,” said Robert Alvarez, Bigcommerce CFO and COO. “His guidance and mentorship will be invaluable as the company continues to focus on the superior design of our platform and delivering the best possible experience to clients.”

In November 2014, Bigcommerce secured a $50 million Series D round of funding, and is using the capital to scale its ecommerce software for emerging enterprises. A recent Forrester Wave Report noted that the market for commerce suite technology is set to almost double from a $1.2 billion market in 2014 to $2.1 billion in the US alone by 2019. Large-scale companies looking to optimize their ecommerce platforms are increasingly looking to SaaS-based providers for greater flexibility and performance and at a lower cost than hosted solutions.

Dussault joins a growing team of industry experts at Bigcommerce that have experience propelling worldwide ecommerce companies into massive growth. Most recently, former Groupon and Amazon executive Kal Raman joined the Board of Directors in January to help scale high-growth operations, and Chris Fry, former head of engineering at Twitter and Salesforce.com, was appointed to the Bigcommerce Board of Advisors in December 2014. Tim Schulz, former head of business development at Google, and Ron Pragides, former Twitter engineering director, also joined Bigcommerce in 2014 as Chief Product Officer and senior vice president of engineering respectively. Additionally, former Netflix Chief Talent Officer Patty McCord joined Bigcommerce’s Board of Advisors to build and expand the company’s talent and culture initiatives.
